Laura Champion is a member of the Upper School Math Department. Laura holds a BA in Mathematics Secondary Education from the College of New Jersey and an MS in Mathematics from Montclair State University. She came to us from Parsippany High School, where she taught math for ten years and still serves as costumer for the drama club. She volunteers with the Association of Math Teachers of New Jersey, helping to arrange professional development offerings, and has given professional development workshops both through AMTNJ and the TCNJ Math Alumni association. Laura considers her main strength as a teacher to be her ability to explain and frame mathematics content in clear and meaningful ways. She is especially proud of the work that she and a colleague did to revolutionize the MBS Calculus curriculum to make calculus topics accessible to a wide variety of students. Outside of school, Laura sings in her church choir and keeps busy raising two young boys with her husband.
