Friday Night Lights: Varsity Football vs. Hopkins
Time: 6:00 p.m.
Cost: Free

Location: Burke Field

Come watch our Varsity boys football team take on Hopkins for the big game–Friday Night Lights style! Alumni can watch the game from the End Zone Tent, and families are welcome to join. There is no fee to attend, but if you plan to come to the game, it is helpful that we know how many alumni and guests to expect. Thank you!

 
Kirby Mile

Time: 7:15 p.m. (Halftime)

Cost: Free

Location: Burke Field

Join us during halftime of the football game as the Cross Country Team runs the 34th Annual Kirby Mile. The Kirby Mile is open to anyone––lace up your sneakers and give it your best shot! The Kirby Mile is held in memory of alumnus and former Trustee Allan P. Kirby, Jr. ’49, P ’75, GP ’01, who passed away in 2020.

1975 STATE CHAMPIONSHIP SOCCER TEAM GATHERING

Time: 10:00 a.m - 11:00 a.m.

Cost: Complimentary

Location: Burke Field

Members of the 1975 Championship Soccer Team and their guests are invited to watch the Boys Varsity Soccer team take on the Morris County School of Technology at 10:00 a.m. from an exclusive Alumni End Zone Tent with complimentary light refreshments. The team will be recognized during the game to celebrate this milestone occasion.

Please note this event is open to members of the 1975 Soccer team and other soccer alumni and coaches who have been invited by their team representatives.

 
Alumni BBQ

Time: 12:00 - 2:00 p.m.

Cost: $45 for adults 21+/$25 kids 10-20/Complimentary for children 9 and under. 

Location: Alumni House

All alumni are invited to a BBQ at Alumni House! This family-friendly event will have BBQ food, beer/wine, and activities for the little ones! Must be 21 or older to be served. Milestone class years (6s and 1s) will receive a special reunion gift at check-in!  We are excited to have Glenbrook Brewery, owned by MBS alumnus Darren Cregan ’92, on hand to serve those aged 21 and older.

Registration includes BBQ food, 2 drink tickets for the brewery, beer/wine, access to activities, and a $5 gift to The MB Fund. Thank you for your support!

 
Campus Tour

Time: 2:00 - 3:00 p.m.

Cost: Free

Location: Senior Circle (Starting Point)

Been awhile since you’ve seen campus? Take a guided tour, led by Admissions and current students, and see how campus has changed! Tours will take off from Senior Circle in front of Beard Hall.

Starting at 6:30 p.m., there will be reserved tables at The Homestead Bar & Kitchen in Morristown. This is an informal, pay-as-you-go gathering and is not sponsored by the School—just a great opportunity to catch up. While there is no fee to attend, please register so we can plan accordingly!

MBS Athletic Hall of Fame 40th Anniversary Induction and Celebration

Time: 3:00 - 5:30 p.m.

Induction Ceremony: 3 p.m., reception immediately following

Cost: $40 per person / $19.86 for Hall of Fame members

Location: Lee Kellogg Sadrian Dining Hall

Join us as we celebrate 40 years of the MBS Athletic Hall of Fame! All alumni and friends are invited to an induction ceremony and reception in the Lee Kellogg Sadrian Dining Hall. 

Registration for alumni and guests is $40 and includes champagne/beer/wine/soft drinks, hors d'oeuvres, and stations. All guests must be 21 or older to attend. Previous Hall of Fame inductees are welcome to attend at a discounted rate.

Coach Joe DeKasar (“Coach D”)

An AP Little All-America football standout at Upsala College and U.S. Army veteran, Joseph "Coach D" DeKasar dedicated 24 years to Morristown Beard School as a beloved assistant coach, sub, and athletic department fixture. He helped guide the baseball program through an unprecedented era of success—contributing to 8 conference, 1 county, 2 prep, and 3 state titles—while also serving on the football staff that reached the 2007 state final. Remembered for his kindness and selfless service, Coach D left a lasting legacy as a mentor who impacted generations of MBS student-athletes.

Patrick Yannota '06

A standout multi-sport athlete, Pat Yannota '06 excelled in both hockey and baseball, earning First Team All-State hockey honors and leading his teams to multiple NJ Prep and Mennen Cup championships. Recognized as a selfless teammate and natural leader, he received the Arthur Lee James Award before going on to study finance at Villanova University. He currently serves as Senior Vice President of Commercial Real Estate at the Varney Agency in Manhattan.  

Michael McDonald '01

An exceptional athlete with 11 varsity letters, Michael McDonald '01 was a key force behind eight team championships across football and baseball while also starring on the basketball court. A multi-year captain and decorated All-Prep and All-County honoree, he continued his education at Mississippi State before dedicating his career to education and athletic coaching. He has served as a longtime coach at Dover High School and co-owns the McDonald Baseball Camp. 

2010-2011 Girls Hockey Team

The 2010–2011 Girls Varsity Hockey Team delivered a historic, undefeated 18-0 season to capture the WIHLMA Championship. Dominating on both ends of the ice, the powerhouse squad scored 125 goals while allowing only 9 against them, securing 11 shutouts along the way. The legendary campaign featured 10 All-State honorees and four players who topped 20 goals and 45 points each.
