Affording Morristown Beard
Una inversión en el futuro de su hijo
A Morristown Beard School education makes a lasting difference at a formative time in a student’s life. Here, students are inspired to think boldly, engage thoughtfully with the world around them, and pursue their passions with curiosity, purpose, and determination. The result is an education that prepares students not only for what comes next, but for a life of meaningful contribution.
We recognize that tuition is a significant investment in your student’s future, and we believe a family’s ability to pay full tuition should not determine whether MBS is within reach. We are committed to building a thriving community of passionate, empathetic, and driven students from a wide range of backgrounds.
Through need-based financial aid, MBS works to make an exceptional education accessible to students and families who embody our mission. Our admission process considers each student without regard to a family’s ability to pay, strengthening our community and enriching the experience of all who call MBS home.
We are here to listen, partner with, and support families as they make an MBS education a reality. We look forward to welcoming you to our community.

Preguntas frecuentes sobre ayuda financiera
Who can apply?
Financial aid is intended to supplement family resources. Awards are available to families across a range of financial circumstances, and any family who believes they may need assistance is encouraged to apply.
Financial need is evaluated based on a number of factors, including household income, assets, liabilities, and the number of children attending tuition-charging schools.
Are there tuition payment plans?
MBS families may select one of three payment plans.
- A ten-month plan, beginning July 1, allows for equal payments to cover the cost of one year's tuition.
- Families may opt to pay in two installments – 60% of tuition due July 1 with the remaining 40% to be paid by November 15 or November 30.
- Finally, a family can pay in a lump-sum payment, due on July 1.
What is included in tuition?
Tuition includes the core academic instruction for one school year, as well as lunch. Families can anticipate that tuition will increase by 3-6% every year.
What are the expected additional costs of attending?
Families can expect to pay additional costs as part of the Morristown Beard School community experience. Please note that costs are an estimate, based on what classes, sports, and clubs a student might participate in, and subject to change year over year.

What costs are included as part of financial aid?
Financial aid awards are grants towards the annual tuition, which includes lunch. For fees and activities above and beyond tuition, Morristown Beard School uses a tiered system based on the percentage of aid awarded in order to offset those costs. Examples of ancillary fees include: technology, books, transportation, field trips, club/sport expenses, prom, and more. For more detailed information, please contact Sarah Ellerton, Director of Admission and Financial Aid at sellerton@mbs.net or 973-539-3032.
What is the financial aid award process?
Financial need is defined as the difference between the cost of an MBS education and a family's ability to contribute to that cost. We believe that families have an obligation to provide for their child's education to the extent that they are able, and therefore utilize the services of Clarity to help determine a family's eligibility for aid. Several factors including income, assets, liabilities, and the number of children in tuition-charging schools are taken into consideration. In order to apply, families must complete the Clarity application, and file copies of the required documents with Clarity by the deadlines below. More details are available on Clarity’s website.
We encourage any families with questions to call or email Sarah Ellerton, Director of Admission and Financial Aid at sellerton@mbs.net
